A Lament for Orlando and the LGBTQ Community

I am in shocked tears. 49 beautiful people are gone. They’re gone. ‘As for humanity, their days are like grass, for they flourish like a flower in the field, and when the wind passes over it, its place knows it no more.’ (Psalm 103:15-16)

May it be known to the LGBTQ Community that there are those who carry the cross of Christ that love you in reality. We want to see you succeed, your dreams fulfilled, and your hopes to come true. We want you to find the green country, the abundant life in the here and now. I don’t want to offer you a silly mirage, a God who loves you only when you are able to arbitrarily self-renovate, the demiurge of the Christian imagination that forgets how humans are made in the image of God, ‘wonderfully made.’ (Psalm 139:14)

Remember that ‘Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.’ (1 John 4:8)
